Singers! We all do it at some stage but....

...when we lift the chin it pulls on all the neck muscles (see in this image) this will close the back of the throat and give us a thinner tone because it cuts off the AIR supply carrying the vibration/sound. Try singing with your chin in a normal position and hear the tone quality NOW lift the chin up and hear the sound change to a thinner tone. The higher you go the thinner it gets AND will result in a sore throat. Keep the Chin down and sing at your best :)
